Nick Curran

Nick Curran

Yeah man! I love the pedal. Use it all the time. I really dig it.

Comin’ on like a sci-fi hybrid of T-Bone Walker, Little Richard, and Guitar Slim, guitarist/singer Nick Curran was a powerhouse performer who owed a strong debt to blues and rockabilly artists of the ’50s. Nick was the leading root, blues, rock’n’roll, rockabilly, punkabilly guitar player and has played with Deguello, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy Vaughan, Charlie Sexton, Hubert Sumlin, Hollywood Fats Band, Paladins and about every other roots artist. Using a live, one-take technique and vintage recording equipment, Curran uncannily managed to recreate not only the sound but also the spirit of those earlier, wonderful times. Curran was nonetheless able to infuse each track with a freshness, urgency, and vitality that is lacking in many modern blues and rock releases.

Nick was outstanding guitar player and personality, even Deep Blue Delay Nick had, has the serial number 666. Unfortunately, in 2012 Nick passed away from oral cancer at the age of 35.
